About Us
The Bharatiya Grameen Mahila Sangh is a not-for-profit, non political and non sectarian national organization, founded in 1955, with branches in all states across India.
The Karnataka State Branch was founded in 1962 by Late Padma Bhushan Smt. Yashodhara Dasappa and the late Smt. C. Sharada. Bharatiya Grameena Mahila Sangha Bangalore completed its 60+ years of operation.
We primarily support orphans, rescued children, children with single parents, and children facing abuse and challenging conditions at home. We are a registered organization under the Karnataka Women and Child Department and the Child Welfare Committee.
We also help women in distress, like marital discord, domestic violence, etc., with shelter, food, counseling, and vocational training. We take care of senior women citizens from poor economic backgrounds at our old age home.
Since inception , we have helped over 12,000 children with food, shelter, and education. We have helped 3000+ women lead a better life by overcoming their difficulties. Many children have completed their high school education with a 90%+ pass percentage in our school, which imparts free English medium education for the underprivileged.
