Projects

Child Care Institution (CCI)

A home for orphans, needy single parent children, children of migrants and children who are in need of shelter and education.  Destitute home was started in 1975 and more than 10000 children have been provided shelter and education since then. At present the ashram is home to 250 children aged between six years to sixteen years. The children are provided  with all amenities like food, clothing, medical care, education and extracurricular activities.

BGMS Shishukunk Vidyalaya

BGMS ShishuKunj Vidhyalaya an English medium school from class 1  to class 10 and was established in 2009 with the support from Shishukunj London to provide quality education to the inmates of BGMS CCI. The school is affiliated to the Karnataka state education board and has 300 students of which 75% are girls. Shishukunj school provides an environment of safety, care and help in nurturing the children to blossom. Apart from imparting quality academic education, the children are also provided avenues for after-school activities like Sports, Music & Dance, Yoga, Shloka classes, science experiments etc. Health checkup programs, awareness programs and talks by eminent people from different walks of life are regularly conducted. The students have also won laurels in interschool sports and cultural activities Bridge classes are conducted for slow learners and children who have studied in non English-medium school.  

Anandham

Anand Dham is an old age home built with the help of Rotary Club of Bangalore Indiranagar and Jai Shiv Shakthi Foundation to provide a homely and respectable living for elders with utmost commitment and care, It is a home for neglected destitute elderly women, Widows, Handicapped and Orphans who are aged 60 and above. Inmates are sheltered with sufficient space, homely atmosphere, medical & health care facilities along with nutritious food and clothing.

Swadhar Greh

A Short Stay home or Swadhar Gruha  for women in distress and who are without any social and economic support, who have suffered trauma and abuse at the hands of their husbands/in Laws/others or who have suddenly found themselves without a home, can find  immediate shelter in BGMS. They will be  provided with legal aid, guidance and vocational training to enable them to take steps for their readjustment in family/society.

Vocational training includes various trades like home nursing, computer education, cooking, tailoring beautician’s course etc

The scheme functions under   the Women and child development department of Government of Karnataka as per the guidelines set by the Government

ROTARY - NTTF Vocational training centre

Rotary Bangalore Indiranagar and Nittur Technical Training foundation(NTTF) have set up a vocational training centre to offer a 1 year certificate course on Computer hardware and Networking. BGMS has enabled this centre at its premises to improve the employment opportunities for all students who have completed SSLC and are of 17 years age at enrollment. The students are taught computer maintenance, software installation, maintenance etc. The classes are conducted by NTTF that has over 65 years of experience in vocational training. Rotary Bangalore Indiranagar sponsors the complete cost of the program for all students.

Parijatha is a college girls hostel was built in 2017 with the help of Rotary club of Bangalore Indiranagar and Jai Shiv Shakthi Foundation for needy girl students who complete 10th standard with good scores and wish to continue their education further.
Accommodation, food, medical care and college fees are provided from BGMS

The scheme was sanctioned by Government of Karnataka under Women and child development department, during the year 2000-01 with an objective to assist women who are victims of domestic violence, rape, sexual abuse and dowry harassment. It aims at providing legal assistance, temporary shelter, financial relief and training to enable them to be self-reliant and also to achieve social and economic empowerment.
We have two help lines managed by highly qualified and trained counselors in operation round the clock to provide guidance, counseling and assistance to women in distress. Santvana centre at BGMS covers the Bangalore rural District, comprising of Nelamangala, Ramanagar, Channapatna, Doddaballapur, Devanahalli, Magadi and Kanakapura Taluq.
